Employment Opportunities Internship Position Description JBC International is a trade consultancy providing expert strategic counsel, monitoring and advocacy services on trade issues to corporations, businesses and trade associations seeking opportunities in the global marketplace. From the world's leading economies to new and emerging markets, JBC provides substantive expertise to clients on a broad range of commercial issues critical to their global business. JBC is seeking to fill internship positions during Spring and Fall semesters each year. The interns' responsibilities include on-going research in current international trade and customs issues, attending House and Senate trade-related hearings, and assisting in the writing of client newsletters. Interns will also join with the rest of the JBC staff in basic office support functions. JBC hires interns with excellent writing and research skills who demonstrate a current knowledge of international affairs. Interns need to be team players with a strong work ethic balanced by a good sense of humor. Due to the international nature of the firm's work, interns who are bi- or multi-lingual receive preference. Current intern projects include updating the firm's guide to national Customs Administrations' Y2K readiness, providing research for monthly trade-related newsletters on Europe and Latin America, and staying current with international e-commerce issues. Interns receive a monthly stipend and have access to the office's workout room. The office is located two blocks from the White House and within walking distance of several Metro stops. Interested applicants can contact Jim Mortensen, Director of Administration, at [email protected]. |
